This year I begun to figure out that life is all about relationships, it's not about accomplishments. In fact what the bible says that the life is worthless, listen worthless, without love. Maybe accomplishments, achievements, fame, money, career and other things its just a bonus in our life?.
I'm in love with someone right now and I know she's really in love with me too. Every time that we're together and looking through each others eye, clearly and instantly, a thought always entered my head - I love this woman! This woman that I will truly love unconditionally. What do I love with what we have is our God centered relationship.
Back to our topic: Do you think am I right? "The best use of life is love?". If you think I'm right here's my question; Why then do we allow relationships to get the short end of the stick? Have you ever thought about that?.
If love validates our faith and it integrates our life and it compensates for the sin, and it reverberates forever, and it's the only thing that really matters that is going to last (get my point?). Why do our relationships get the short end of the stick? You know our time and our attention?. I think the answer is we get busy and we forget that the best use of life is love. We forget this truth, the best use of life is love. We get distracted, we get preoccupied to less important issues. and when we get overloaded
and when we get hurried, we start doing what they call relational skimming (my new found word). Relational skimming means I'm really busy this week, so I don't have time for relationships. Bad decision. Because the relationships are all that's going to matter. When we get busy we start relationally skimming. We start focusing on what's urgent, not important. Getting our work done, paying the bills, making progress and reaching goals. When all of that, honestly, is temporary. The bills your worried about paying right now you won't be thinking about in five years. But the relationships will still matter. And there going to matter in eternity.
Nothing can take the place of loving relationships, not success, not salary, not status, not power, not wealth. And when you get to heaven God is not going to say to you, tell me about your career, and He's not going to say, tell me how much money you have in your bank account. And He's not going to tell me what was your hobby. And He's not going to tell me what were your sports achievements. He's not going to say tell me what you accomplished, He's going to say this;
DID YOU LEARN TO LOVE? TELL ME ABOUT HOW YOU TREATED OTHER PEOPLE... DID YOU LEARN TO LOVE ME AND DID YOU LEARN TO LOVE OTHER PEOPLE?

The Bible says, "Let love be your greatest aim." It's not enough to say, "One of the things I want in life is to be more loving," as if it's in your top ten list. Relationships must have priority in your life above everything else. Because life without love is really worthless. The Apostle Paul makes this point: "No matter what I say, what I believe and what I do, I'm bankrupt without love."
Why is it that we often act as if relationships are something to be squeezed into our schedule? We talk about finding time for our children or making time for people in our lives. That gives the impression that relationships are just a part of our lives along with many other tasks. But God says relationships are what life is all about. Four of the Ten Commandments deal with our relationship to God while the other six deal with our relationships with people. But all ten are about relationships!
In The Purpose Driven Life, Rick Warren says, "Relationships, not achievements or the acquisition of things, are what matters most in life. So why do we allow our relationships to get the short end of the stick? When our schedules become overloaded, we start skimming relationships, cutting back on giving the time, energy, and attention that loving relationships require. What's most important to God is displaced by what, in our mind is urgent. Busyness is a great enemy of relationships. We become preoccupied with making a living, doing our work, paying bills, and accomplishing goals as if these tasks are the point of life. They are not. The point of life is learning to love - God and people. A life minus love equals zero in God's book.
